Hey guys, it’s Erica! I’m so sorry for not updating a whole lot! This summer has just flown by and I really didn’t get around to blogging at all last month!
So I haven’t really been up to a whole lot, band camp and show choir camp came and passed, and show choir is gonna be awesome this year! I can’t wait to compete and show that we can do amazing things for being the size of a school and show choir that we are. I love it! The dresses are gonna be so fierce—a floor-length one-shoulder ball gown that’s pink and sparkly, while the guys are wearing a suit with blue pinstripes and pink paisley ties (better than they sound, I hope!) and then our second outfit is a royal blue one-sleeve number that has a scoop skirt—I’ll post pictures AS SOON as I get the outfits! Buttt it won’t be for a while. ![]()
Band on the other hand is going to get on my nerves real fast. Instead of our director doing band camp, his son did everything, including dehydrate us and make us do push ups for stupid stuff—like not getting set in our previous sets (those pretty pictures that form on the field while bands are marching? those are sets to us ;) ) in 10 seconds when half of us have to run across the field. If band is like this next year, I’m seriously considering quitting with a few other girls. We haven’t taken our second semester of gym yet, and we have to take it to graduate. So if it becomes a choice of quitting band and doing gym or doing summer gym, i’m quitting band fersure. This year was too intense for camp and no one—which is saying a LOT for the people in our band- deserves to be treated the way they were. akdfbhja;dklfhbak;dfjkl
Over this past weekend, I went to see Mary Poppins in Cleveland, and it was absolutely amazing! I hate to admit it, but I went in with somewhat low expectations, but it ended up being great! The kids who played Jane and Michael were astounding for such a big role that they had. The one boy was 13 and the girl I’m guessing was right around there—it didn’t say in the playbill—and they had VOICES. And the girl who played Mary Poppins—who I might also add, originated the part of Belle in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway—sounded EXACTLY like Julie Andrews. I was absolutely blown away! The only thing that disappointed me was that we could see the wires they used for the special effects. Which, granted, they can only do so much with such bright lighting and wires that need to hold around 150 pounds of a person + those crazy costumes, but it was just kind of disappointed about that. But they had other great effects that made up for it
9.8/10!
Other than that, nothing is really new! Hopefully come this weekend I’ll have some exciting news for you guys, but you’ll just have to wait. & no, it’s nothing with the site—it’s something personal—but I might put up a new layout soon just for you! ![]()
Hopefully Bella will blog soon!
